In 2021 I made a mural project in the Casa de la Cultura de La Xara, an emblematic building for educational, artistic and community activities. The aim of the mural was to represent the essence of the space: a meeting point for training, creativity and personal growth. To do so, I designed a youthful figure surrounded by symbolic elements such as books, colorful stains, music and visual references to learning and culture, transmitting energy, dynamism and a message of artistic development.
One of the keys to this project was the integration of the work into the architecture of the building itself. The mural adapts to the volume and layout of the wall, wrapping doors, bends and structural forms so that the figure merges naturally with the facade. This turns the intervention into a unique piece that not only decorates, but also connects with the space and transforms it in a respectful and functional way.
The protagonist figure, young and in a creative attitude, symbolizes the main public of the building: students, children, teenagers and people who use the space as a platform to learn and express themselves. The books, the musical notes and the spots of color form a visual language that refers to disciplines such as literature, music, plastic arts and the cultural activities that take place inside the Casa de la Cultura.
This mural shows how mural art can enrich public spaces, cultural centers, libraries, schools and municipal buildings, giving them a close, modern and educational visual identity. It also demonstrates the potential of mural art as a tool to reinforce cultural values, encourage creativity and make the urban environment more attractive and welcoming.
