This project was carried out in Saint-Denis<\/strong>, capital of Reunion Island<\/strong>, within the Academy Cam\u00e9lia<\/strong>, an educational and social space with a strong community involvement. The mural was carried out during the R\u00e9union Graffiti Festival 7<\/strong>, an international urban art festival that brings together artists from different countries and is committed to muralism as a tool for social, cultural and educational transformation. <\/p>\n

\n

A contemplative eye as a symbol of learning and awareness<\/strong><\/h2>\n

The mural depicts a large contemplative eye<\/strong>, an image loaded with symbolism that invites us to observe, reflect and learn. The eye functions as a metaphor for collective consciousness, shared knowledge and the importance of looking at the world from new perspectives. <\/p>\n

The work incorporates the Creole motto “Pou apren, gard innot many\u00e8r”,<\/strong> which can be translated as “To learn, we must look our own way”.<\/em> This phrase perfectly sums up the spirit of the project: learning from one’s own identity, from a personal perspective and from respect for cultural diversity. <\/p>\n

The mural does not impose a closed message, but proposes an open reflection. The eye observes, but also invites to be observed; it raises questions about how we look at our environment, how we learn and how we build collective knowledge within a community. <\/p>\n

Urban art and community participation<\/strong><\/h2>\n

One of the most important aspects of this project was its social and participatory<\/strong> nature. By taking place in an educational space such as Academy Cam\u00e9lia, the mural became a pedagogical and cultural tool, encouraging the involvement of young people, educators and neighbors. <\/p>\n

    Participating in the R\u00e9union Graffiti Festival #7<\/strong> meant being part of an international artistic context, where muralism is understood as a global language capable of connecting very different realities. Painting in Reunion Island was an enriching experience both on an artistic and human level, allowing me to adapt my style to a different cultural context and to work with respect and listening. <\/p>\n

    This mural joins other international projects carried out outside Spain, reinforcing a trajectory that combines urban art, social projects and murals with a message<\/strong>, both locally and internationally.<\/p>\n
